I have taken two technical editing courses with Joeli Kelly, Learn To Tech Edit and Learn To Tech Edit: The Next Steps as well as several design classes.
As your tech editor, I will:
Check grammar, spelling, and punctuation
Review your pattern for consistency, clarity, and accuracy
If you provide a style sheet, I will ensure that your pattern conforms to it
Check your math, stitch counts, and measurements using spreadsheets
Review pictures, descriptions, schematics, and instructions to ensure they accurately represent the finished item
Compare your written instructions to your charts, if desired
I will not change your pattern but will point out inconsistencies, errors, and improvements by annotating your PDF pattern or through "track changes" in Microsoft Word. We will work together to create a clear pattern that will be enjoyable for your knitters.
Additional service provided:
Create charts using Stitch Mastery
I am currently accepting new clients. Please contact me for quotes. My strengths include accessories and seamless garment construction. My current turnaround time is within one week. After I send my edits and you have made corrections, I am more than happy to review your pattern again.

Hi! Welcome to knit3together, a place where my love of all things knitting comes together. I am a tech editor, knitwear designer, and occasionally have some finished items for sale. I am an accountant by day but my love of knitting has taken over the rest of my world. I live in New York City with my Maltese, Chewy, who loves to cuddle while I knit and edit.
As an accountant, I possess an innate ability to hone in on problem areas and certainly am not afraid of spreadsheets. I will use these skills to help you.
Over the years, I have had amazing opportunities to learn from the best in the industry including: taking design and knitter's math classes with Joji Locatelli, Amy Herzog, Veera Välimäki, Kate Atherley, and Francoise Danoy of Aroha Knits; attending lectures by Debbie Bliss, Norah Gaughan, Cecelia Campochiaro, and Debbie Stoller; as well as learning knitting skills from leaders in their fields including Nancy Marchant (brioche) and Rosemary Drysdale (entrelac).
Happy Knitting! ~ Emily
